I agree RubaDub...I've been in contact with many who are there. They put on a 'happy face' for the sake of appearances...while at the same time they speak/describe the many restrictions they're forced to live by. It's a long list of do's and don'ts...or else! I especially feel sorry for married couples cooped-up and enclosed in a 500' square foot studio 24/7 for the past 3 months. I mean...tension and tempers must be at a breaking point by now for a ton of married individuals. And they're talking about it being this way until possibly September or October. The reality...life at Bethel sucks!

but very little news from a couple of people i know well there.
they can't leave the "compound" or much of anything else.

Would Watchtower Ever Risk Setting Another Date
by Number 6 inthere was a 50 year gap between the failed dates of 1925 and 1975.. memories fade, people die, and who cares what was said 50 years ago.. most jw's now in the religion werent there when 1975 was a thing.
even my mother who was baptized in 1974 who i do remember speaking about it back in the day, can barely remember what the fuss was about.
for active jw's who are doing all there studying online now, its practically impossible to find any wt contemporary reference to 1975.. i read recently (sorry i cant source it right now) that at the time, even watchtower may have taken the view that even if they knew 1975 was wrong, the short term gains would far outstrip those who left leading to an overall net gain so it was a risk worth taking.

...what gets me...is why did GB Lett stop there...why didn't he just keep on going with the 'Last Days' warble?
I mean it took him all of 20 seconds to say what he stated...why didn't he go on for another minute or so with the 'final part of the last days' mantra!🤣🤣🤣

Someone will come up with the link to GB member Lett going off the rails regarding Covid-19. But here's what he actually said...if you can believe it:
"The events unfolding around us are making clearer than ever that we're living in the final part of the last days...undoubtedly the final part of the final part of the last days...shortly before the last day of the last days."

Would WT ever risk setting another date?
I doubt it...unless they can come up with a slogan to replace..."Stay alive til '75"!
Oh wait...
🎶"Soon you'll adore '34"!🎶

CO'S "encouraging" letter to circuit
by nowwhat? inthe point of the letter was how many are feeling disappointed these days.. no circuit assembly, convention, how we can't fellowship at the k.h.
disappointed we might have had a love one die, etc etc.
he then goes on to write about how disappointed jehovah must have felt when his first human creation rebelled.

The C. O. in a local circuit said that Warwick, Walkil & Patterson compounds would remain in lockdown mode til October 2020. So if that's true...Assembly Halls and most Kingdom Halls will more than likely see very little use til then as well. That's another 4 to 5 months of these properties sitting idle and collecting dust...so to speak. I drove by our local hall & it's beginning to look abandoned...a ghost-town...imagine what it'll look like come September or October!

Did they use to applaud after reinstatement after being Disfellowshipped, but then it stopped?
by ThomasCovenant ini don't remember disfellowshippings happening very often and announcements about being re instated but i think i remember that we used to clap hands if someone came back after being disfellowshipped.
but then i think clapping wasn't allowed.
am i correct in my recollections?.

RubaDub: The order from the top was to stop the clapping in respect of the innocent party(s).
Now the JW leadership can give a rat's ass about the innocent party and now say..."Oh, what the hell go ahead and clap"!
This organization is a joke in their own right!🤣

Wow...this isn't the same George Floyd CNN is reporting on and parading around!
Looks like CNN has some fact checking of their own reporting that they need to do about this guy!

JWs and Covid Benefits
by minimus inwhat a wonderful time to be a jehovah’s witness!
for the most part you don’t have to go and preach you don’t have to go to meetings and you can stay home and watch what happens on your ipad.
these are the glory days!!

This may be a little off topic...but a misfortune this pandemic is having on JW Kingdom Halls is the neglect to the exterior of the buildings and landscape. I just drove by our local Kingdom Hall and it was a sight to behold. Four to five feet weeds growing all over the grounds. The place truly looks abandoned. There is definitely no pride of ownership and it really reflects badly on the God we worship...while the surrounding Churches landscapes are neatly manicured. I'm not for obvious reasons not wanting to show a picture of our Hall...attached, though is an image of what it reminds me of. It's amazing what 3 months of neglect can do to a piece of property!

In love with disfellowshipped JW
by Amberlou ini started dating a coworker who is a divorced jw.
found out he was disfellowshipped, and he was trying to figure out how to make things work.
i am not a jw, and his family is not supportive of the relationship.
